On a cold Minneapolis December day, we had planned to meet at Spyhouse Coffee in Northeast Minneapolis, but when Denise pulled up the parking lot was packed! She texted David, and we quickly pivoted to Dogwood Cafe a block away. When we realized David had parked in the complete opposite direction, it lead to a very long, very awkward walk toward each other. However, the awkwardness quickly dissipated as we settled into a window seat. We talked for hours about everything and anything. Over a Latte and Americano, we quickly found that this was going to be more.

Please carefully read the description of each location for our hotels suggestions. Each has been carefully selected and reviewed. ﻿We have put together a list of both free and paid activities in our "things to do" section for those arriving early or staying an extra couple of days. We have included some of our favorite restaurants in that section as well!

If you are looking to stay by the airport; we would highly suggest staying at a conveniently located Mall of America hotel. This Courtyard provides complimentary shuttles to MSP airport and Mall of America. Please confirm shuttle schedule and availability directly with the hotel. Located in Bloomington, MN and about 20 minutes from the venue.

We highly suggest staying in the St. Louis Park (West End) area if you are unfamiliar with Minneapolis, want to be closer to the venue, and are uncomfortable with city driving. There are many hotels in this area that we suggest. Near the shops at West End and located in a suburban area of the city. There are grocery stores, restaurants, fast food, coffee shops, shopping, and a Costco gas station all within walking distance. Located about 20 mins from the MSP airport, 8 minutes from downtown Minneapolis, and 10 minutes from the venue.

If you are looking to stay in an iconic downtown Minneapolis hotel, this is it. The Foshay is a highlight of the Minneapolis skyline. Within walking distance of Target Field and US Bank Stadium, it sits about 18 minutes from the MSP airport and about 12 minutes from the venue. Downtown Minneapolis can be tricky to navigate, especially at night. It consists largely of one way streets and parking garages/valet. We highly suggest trying out the attached steakhouse "Manny's" and the Fondue restaurant next door "Melting Pot".

Como zoo, conservatory, japanese gardens, and arboretum are free (donation suggested) parks and exhibits located in St. Paul Minnesota. Be sure to check their website to see if they are requiring reservations for your desired visit time.

This authentic Italian eatery has our hearts! David used to eat here almost every day when he worked in St. Paul. We highly suggest the pizza, coffee, and gelato! Order and pay at the counter then grab a seat.

With a couple of locations throughout the twin cities, if you are looking for a killer shrimp or steak taco, look no further! If you see David and Denise here, you might just catch Denise sneaking David's chips.
